VINTAGE GLAM CLAUS is a deliberate deconstruction of a cultural icon and an experimental studio prompt for Christmas. Rather than leaning into kitsch or nostalgia, the project presents Santa as he is rarely shown: human, vain, tired, and waiting. The visual language is rooted in high-end editorial photography, emphasizing raw skin, visible texture, cinematic grain, and a sense of controlled unease. Nothing feels staged; everything feels observed.
A moment in between. A state of waiting. A quiet look behind the mask. The project explores the intersection of photorealistic AI generation, classical post-production, and narrative AI motion, with a strong focus on maintaining full creative control over every detail.

Concept

Concept & Character

The project began with an open exploration of Santa Claus as a visual and narrative figure. Using Midjourney as a conceptual sketching tool, multiple interpretations of the character were generated across different poses, viewing angles, and emotional states.

Rather than searching for a single perfect image, the focus was on understanding how subtle changes in posture, expression, and styling could shift the underlying narrative. Through this iterative process, a loose story gradually emerged — not a traditional Christmas tale, but a quiet moment of waiting. As the concept evolved, Google NanoBanana Pro was increasingly used to secure visual continuity across iterations, ensuring consistency in character, texture, and proportions.

These explorations helped define the emotional core of the project and laid the groundwork for translating a static character study into a cinematic, time-based experience.

Post-Production

AI Pipeline and Prompt-Process ​

In the third phase, the static image was translated into motion using a deliberately split AI video workflow.

Veo 3.1 handled larger camera movements, controlled zooms, and spatial depth, while Kling O1 focused on ultra-realistic micro-animations such as breathing, subtle hand movement, skin behavior, steam, and minimal gestures. This approach enabled precise control and resulted in loopable, cinematic micro-narratives rather than obvious AI effects. The project also served as a practical test to evaluate current AI video models under real production conditions.

Final color grading, grain matching, rhythm, and timing were completed in Adobe After Effects. Music and sound design were generated using SUNO AI before exporting optimized versions for web and social platforms.
